rain update...

The rain lasted about 30 minutes and all the kids (regardless of background) acted like they'd never seen rain before! I wanted to go over to one of the kids who had just come from the mid west smack them across the face and remind them that they get rain EVERY YEAR!...and here's a prediction, the mid west will get rain again NEXT YEAR too! I don't get it. maybe I'm just a little too traveled for the people here. Everyone acts like things that are a given rarity should be seen as absolute anomalies and therefore reason to massively freak out and leave the brains at home!

*sigh* I must be going crazy.

news of the island...

Well, the sky had that look that said rain this morning and it did...and the kids went nuts...over just enough rain to get the ground, roads, and trees wet. Just enough rain to make the driving population accident prone...as if we weren't already. As of late, I'm having a little trouble dealing with a population that went from driving camels to driving SUV's overnight.
